LAVA Advisory Partners has announced that it has achieved certification as a B Corporation (or BCorp). It becomes one of the first UK professional services businesses to achieve this recognition as part of a group of companies reinventing business by pursuing purpose as well as profit.
LAVA has been certified as having met rigorous social and environmental standards which represent its commitment to goals that focus beyond M&A, and beyond shareholder profit. The certification addressed the entirety of LAVA’s operations, covering the five key impact areas of governance, workers, community, environment and customers.
The certification process is rigorous, with applicants required to reach a benchmark score of over 80 while providing evidence of socially and environmentally responsible practices relating to energy supplies, waste and water use, worker compensation, diversity and corporate transparency. To complete the certification, LAVA has embedded their commitment to purpose beyond profit in their company articles.
“Achieving B Corporation status has been in the works for LAVA since our very inception, with the whole team committed to reaching the highest standards of social and environmental impact, and we could not be more excited to join this global community of like-minded organisations.”
