LAVA delivers the sale of Amelio Solar Energy to Good Energy, expanding access to sustainable power

LAVA is delighted to have managed and delivered the sale of Lincolnshire-based Amelio Solar Energy in a deal that leveraged both our strong commitment to ESG, and the hands-on deal preparation and negotiation expertise of the entire team.

Amelio was founded in 2010 by Richard Jones, a Chartered Surveyor with over 35 years experience and a passion for fighting climate change. The company has installed over 20MWp of Solar PV to date, supporting homeowners and commercial and public sector organisations on their journeys to optimum energy efficiency.

As Amelio’s majority shareholder and Managing Director, Richard first came to LAVA via a recommendation from a partner in a previous transaction. Attracted by our personal approach, he particularly appreciated the time we took to understand his individual objectives and specific needs for the deal. Our bespoke solutions mean this is a key step for LAVA in establishing a strong foundation for a successful relationship.

After dedicating himself to the company for the past 14 years, Richard had built it to a point where it was primed for future growth with strong foundations and a deliverable succession plan. After a dedicated post-transaction integration period to ensure the company is successfully embedded in its new home, he plans to take a step back and spend more time with his family, and didn’t want a long, drawn-out deal process that would disrupt the day to day running of the business. Given both our credentials in the ESG space, and hands-on approach to dealmaking, we were confident we could craft and deliver the perfect solution for Richard and the Amelio team, and this ability to deliver on financial considerations, transaction timelines and buyer deliverability was one of the key reasons Richard chose to appoint us:

Seamless preparation ensured prospects had all the information they needed to rapidly progress.
