With the TCS London Marathon 2024 fast approaching, Loic, Ivo, Hamish, and Simon – aka Team LAVA, have been clocking up some serious mileage, gearing up to cross the finish line and hit our £20,000 fundraising target.
At this stage in the team’s training, we’re excited to announce that their hard work has already raised £13,100 for the NSPCC, achieving 65% of our target.
Wondering what 19 weeks of marathon training and fundraising entails? Take a look below:
In addition to a staggering 104.5 hours spent running, the infographic offers further insight into the team’s journey: listening to 99 hours of music, sharing 18 running tracks for group motivation, and hydrating with 43.8 litres of water.
The training period has also sparked a competitive spirit amongst the team, leading to a pledge that the last member to finish will face a forfeit yet to be chosen. Given Hamish’s previous Ironman accomplishments, including a 108km bike ride before tackling the marathon segment, expectations are set high.
Importantly, the team’s collective dedication goes beyond their personal achievements, offering substantial support to the NSPCC’s vital work and their mission to safeguard children. You can donate via our JustGiving page here.
