Beavis Morgan group is a well-established firm of chartered accountants and business advisers with a rich history of providing expert advice across accounting, audit, tax, and restructuring under the Moorfields brand, and other corporate services. The Beavis Morgan and Moorfields leadership team came to LAVA via an introduction as they, like many others in the sector, had been approached by a number of parties interested in investing in the business. The team recognised the value in appointing expert M&A advisors to manage negotiations, maximise offers, and deliver the best possible outcome, while allowing them to focus on the continuing growth of their core business. After a robust selection process, LAVA emerged as the advisor of choice, not least due to its significant experience and extensive networks in the accounting sector, Private Equity space and beyond.

In a buoyant market with plenty of interest from both Private Equity and trade parties, it was vital to the Beavis Morgan team that any potential deal scenario was fully explored to ensure it met the requirements of a diverse stakeholder base of seven equity partners. The group represented a unique asset, being a strong, London-based set of brands encompassing accounting, audit, tax and restructuring, and LAVA were able to leverage their sector expertise and negotiation know-how to drive simultaneous discussions between a number of parties.

LAVA’s bespoke approach to dealmaking was a key ingredient in successfully balancing the needs and priorities of so many partners to deliver a deal they were all aligned with. The LAVA approach revealed that the most important consideration across the board was the focus on finding a solution that retained the structure the Beavis Morgan and Moorfields teams had worked so hard to create. Many deals in this area would inevitably have led to a break-up of the previous organisation, with divisions divided, merged or carved out entirely, and the acquired company rebranded under the buyer’s umbrella.
